"It has been a rewarding experience for me to be involved with Latin as an adult and contribute to a school that I feel has given me incredible opportunities in life." – Jeanine Forloine '99 cooked a five-course feast, and the hosts offered champagne, charcuterie, and comfy slippers to arriving guests. "It has been a rewarding experience for me to be involved with Latin as an adult and contribute to a school that I feel has given me incredible opportunities in life." Jeanine explains her inspiration for again hosting a Scholarship Dinner: "The Scholarship Dinner is particularly special to me. It is a unique and intimate event where members of the Latin community can connect and build friendships. It supports such an important program and also strengthens our community." Mark Wimbiscus Yoon '01 co-hosted his event with the Lanes. "Scholarship Dinner is my favorite Latin event – it is basically my version of Latin Thanksgiving dinner. You get together with members of the Latin family, enjoy good food and good company, and think about ways to give thanks." Mark attended High Jump, an enrichment program that assists talented students with limited economic means gain access to top public, private and independent high schools. By opening the door to Latin "High Jump … really changed my life," Mark says. "Latin gave me so much – a fantastic education, engaging activities, a supportive community, a shot at excellent colleges, a scholarship, a job during school and networking to jobs beyond. This is not a debt that can be repaid. I honestly feel that the best thing that I can do is pass it on, and to me that means supporting scholarships at Latin and being a positive ambassador for the school."
