Gerald Grant Jr. Harry Stern Jane Vacho writes in to share that "I received a volunteer award in April for my work with the Grace Hill Women's Business Center. It was given at the 'Wall of Fame' awards dinner honoring five women who have opened and successfully maintained their own businesses for two or more years. I write the bios of the women for the program each year, all of whom used Women's Business Center to arrange for financing, plan their business plans and work with the SBA on getting started. Not being one of those women, for me it was completely unexpected. My only regret was that I had not had my hair done for the occasion." 1950 Virginia (Aldrich) McTier writes in to share her news. "My husband of 48 years, John C. Munson, died in 2004. I remarried Samuel E. McTier in 2007. I still live in Lake Forest, where I have lived since 1956. My youngest daughter, Laura Munson, wrote a book that was published by Putnam this April. They sent her to New York, where she was on 'Good Morning America' talking about her book This Is Not The Story You Think It Is.... Her tour is also taking her to Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle and Denver. Putnam hopes that the book will be a best-seller." 2 1 3 1 Ralph Swanson '27 sends his best to fellow Latin Alums as he celebrates his 83rd year as an Alumnus. alumna Kyle Adams Carney '42 3 Peter Burrows '56 with his wife and family in Shanghai. 54 Latin Magazine 2 Senior photo of
