In Memoriam 1952 REUNION YEAR Bob Mendelson Shelly Morris Hartney (Class of '52 but spent senior year at Brownmoor School in Phoenix, AZ) was sorry to miss the Golden Romans reunion this fall: "Wish I could be there, but it's not possible. Tight budget, too many volunteer jobs, family member just diagnosed with cancer, etc. Please give my best to all, particularly those from 1950 whom I used to date, those in 1951 with whom I was a classmate in 1947-1948, those in 1952 who graduated the same year as I, and those in 1953 who were also some of my best friends. If they still travel a lot, tell them SW Colorado has much to experience and I would love to see them." 1953 Andy Hedberg Frank Buffum could not attend the reunion this fall but asked that we let all know he's alive and doing well. 1955 We are saddened to report that Charles W. Holabird passed away on September 13, 2010. After attending M.I.T., Charles spent time in Chicago, Indiana and Ohio before settling in Cordova, TN in later years. Our condolences to his children Sueanne, Wade, Scott and Clay and his extended family, friends and classmates who remember Charles fondly. 1961 Sally M. Dorr We regret to report that Julia Finn Kelly passed away on May 8, 2011 in Saugatuck, MI. A warm and accomplished woman, Julie was a dedicated volunteer and creative businesswoman whose work took her from the world of tennis to building and decorating high-end homes to Blasart, an industrial glass works business specializing in sandblasted glass art pieces for design and architectural use. Our condolences to her husband, Ed, sons Drew and Alex and their families, and Julie's friends and classmates. We are sorry to report that Robert G. Monsen passed away on October 10, 2011 in Hot Springs, AR. We extend our deepest sympathy to Bob's wife, Rita, his family and friends, and his classmates who had been looking forward to seeing Bob at their 50th reunion a few weeks earlier.
