Elizabeth was active as a volunteer with numerous organizations and enjoyed traveling after her retirement. She remained a loyal Latin alumna, even logging into the new website at the age of 90! Our condolences to her friends, family and classmates. Elizabeth Alexander Richards 1949 Peter Barrett Elizabeth Rupprecht We are sorry to report that John E. Angle passed away on October 17, 2011 in Fearrington Village, NC. He had moved to the area south of Chapel Hill in 1997 after retiring from Kirkland & Ellis. Our condolences to his wife, Georgia, daughters Jennifer and Susan and his family, friends and classmates. Judith Hargrave Coleman visited her granddaughter Lily's '22 classroom in the lower school this fall, regaling the second graders with stories of life at Latin in the 1940s and being taught by "scary" Mrs. Lawrence. The children were very interested in who Mrs. Coleman asked to the prom. 1951 Ivan Strauss Ross Robbins, Charlie Witz and Ivan Strauss, 30 percent of the 1951 graduating class of the Chicago Latin School for Boys, celebrated their class' 60th reunion during September's reunion weekend, and what a celebration it was! Ivan reports: "We partied like undergraduates, visited with former schoolmates and renewed our friendship with a teacher who had a profound influence on all of us and whom we never forgot. On Thursday night we welcomed Bud Lovett, English teacher and assistant head at Latin from 1948 to 1957, with a dinner at the newly reopened Pump Room attended by Ross, Ivan, Diana Levin '56 and Bob Weiner '56. The celebration continued the next day with the alumni cocktail party, followed by a dinner party for Bud's classes hosted by Diana Levin at her home, and concluded with the Golden Romans dinner at the middle school on Saturday. It was a great weekend. Our thanks to Diana Levin and to Stephanie Chu from the Alumni Office for making it happen." Judy Hargrave Coleman '49 enchanted second grade granddaughter Lily's Latin Class of 2022 during a September visit. 42 Latin Magazine
