IN Michael Krause reports: "The Class of 1963 celebrated its 50th reunion in great style and with a wonderful turnout. We started the weekend leading the fabulous 125th anniversary parade, festooned in Roman helmets, gold beads, Class of '63 pennants and balloons. At the Welcome Reception in the lower school, those of us who have fourth grade pen-pals got to meet our young friends and discuss how it was "way back then..." Later that evening, we held our 50th reunion dinner at the Yacht Club. As the emcee, I asked the reunion committee members including Bart Cameron, Terry Carr, Sue Soldeweld Wollin, Chuck Drueck, Bob Swartz, Liz Lennox Granville and Jack Binyon to take a bow for all their work; singled out Bart for his 50 years of being our class representative (and never forgetting any of us over all these years when it came to fundraising); and thanked Jack for hosting all the meetings at Stanley's. I also announced that our class had broken a record for alumni homecoming giving by achieving close to $30,000 with 64 percent participation. On Saturday, a few of us attended special classes at the school, enjoyed a barbecue lunch under the special alumni tent, and watched as Bob Swartz ran in the alumni Romans Run cheered on by our very own head cheerleader, Sue Soldwedel Wollin, wearing her cheerleader's sweater and shaking those pom poms. On Saturday evening, we were treated to a fabulous reception and party, which took place in the middle school and the upper school. Already we've had calls to make sure we'll have a 55th Reunion in 2018. On behalf of the committee, I state that we will indeed make every effort to get everyone together in five years; that we are 'up for the job' and hope that everyone who attended, and those who were unable to attend, will join this exceptional group of friends and classmates to celebrate 'us!'
