I broke the glass ceiling for our department. I also was given the New Path Award for the McDonald Center at Sharp Hospital to combat drug and alcohol problems, by 'loving those patients back to health.' I was called by San Diego Magazine this year one of the 'Movers of the City.' Still have grad students doing dissertations with me. So at 76 I'm happy and still going strong, with six kids and nine grandchildren." We recently learned that Julia Armour Walker passed away on November 25, 2011 in New York City. Her brother Philip '61 wrote in her obituary that Julia was "fully engaged, energetic, loving, a best friend to hundreds…she loved people and connected them with each other for the betterment of all and the causes they served."
