SPECIFIC INVESTMENTS AND PROGRAM ENHANCEMENTS • Expanded student health support, adding nursing, contact tracing and medical advisory personnel, plus new spaces for care and isolation of community members exhibiting symptoms • Deployed regular student and employee screenings to increase safety of in-person instruction beginning January 2021 • Dedicated instructors for JK through second grade remote learners • Hired regular substitute teachers and reassigned staff to provide additional classroom support and to accommodate health- related absences • Covered the cost of alternate transportation for students and faculty who rely on public transit • Provided on-site programming for middle school students (Bridge Program) who need to remain on campus for the full day, at no cost to families, with plans to expand the program to upper school students as needed • Redesigned spaces and purchased additional classroom furniture to ensure social distancing • Purchased iPads for each lower school student to replace shared iPads • Improved campus internet bandwidth, increased Zoom licensing, and installed a new firewall • Purchased microphones, webcams and other A/V equipment to support both in-person and at-home learning • Purchased new software and equipment for teaching across all three school divisions • Purchased personal protective equipment (PPE) for students and employees • Installed hand-sanitizing stations, thermal scanners and plexiglass dividers at entry points to campus • Enhanced cleaning practices throughout the campus during and after school hours and invested in expanded equipment, supplies and personnel • Cleaned and sanitized all HVAC systems and made improvements to air filtration as directed by mechanical engineers and technicians • Provided saliva testing for students and employees in all divisions • Rented tents for students to eat lunch outdoors in Lincoln Park A N N UA L R E P O R T 2 0 2 0 – 2 1 1 1
