C O V I D - 1 9 R E S P O N S E Navigating Education During a Global Pandemic Latin's value of "community" allowed us to deliver the best possible education in the safest way possible throughout the COVID-19 crisis. Latin has always believed in taking the necessary steps to keep our community whole and thriving, and that didn't waver during the pandemic. To accomplish this, the school redefined the budget, made significant cuts to non-essential operating expenses and made additional investments where necessary. Standing in support of our families, Latin substantially increased the financial aid budget by up to 40% to help those faced with new challenges. Latin committed to retaining all employees whenever possible. In addition to expanding the financial aid budget, new investments to teaching and learning during the pandemic for the 2020-21 school year total $2.7M: $1.8M in personnel; $132,000 for technology to support remote instruction, $719,000 related to buildings and facilities, and $52,000 for other miscellaneous expenses.
