up front Board of Trustees News Latin School is fortunate to have an extremely talented Board of Trustees committed to the continued success of the school and its mission. The school would like to extend its thanks to departing Board members Nancy Borders, president, Parent Association 2008-10, Gabriela F. Cleveland, Michael Chu, Angela Dago, Keith Green, Gardner C. Lane ���95, Leslie Breed McLean, Annmarie Neumeier, Stephen R. Quazzo, Elizabeth Taylor and William S. Wardrop, as well as Senior Trustees Douglas H. Cameron ���67, Judith K. Dimon and Robert N. Mayer. Please join us in welcoming our new trustees: Michael J. Berland ���86 Michael Berland is the president of Penn, Schoen & Berland LLC. He is an internationally recognized strategic advisor and communications consultant and an expert in how people think and behave as consumers, voters and decision-makers. In his 20-year career, Mr. Berland has served as strategic advisor to New York City Mayor Bloomberg and Hillary Rodham Clinton through her Senate and presidential races. In May 2009, he released a book with co-author Doug Schoen titled What Makes You Tick? How Successful People Do It and What You Can Learn from Them. Mr. Berland chairs the Gotham chapter of the Young Presidents��� Organization (YPO) in New York City. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where he was a Commonwealth Scholar, and received his initial training at the Social and Demographic Research Institute. He lives in Waccabuc, NY, with wife, Marcela, and two children. Michael J. Berland ���86 14 Latin Magazine Ritu Dhingra Ritu Dhingra Ritu Dhingra is the director of operations and chief compliance officer for High Pointe Capital. At High Pointe, Ms. Dhingra oversees compliance and is responsible for business administration and management. Her 20 years of work experience includes managerial positions at Underwriters Laboratories, W.W. Grainger and Morton International. Ms. Dhingra has a master���s of management degree from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a bachelor���s degree in chemical engineering from The Ohio State University. She is a member of the board of directors of Evans Life Foundation, which reaches out to children at risk in the greater Chicago area. Ms. Dhingra has been actively involved in volunteering for Latin since her family joined the school in 2006. She has been a member of the Academic Program Committee of the board since 2008 and served as co-chair of the Auction Advertising Committee in 2008 and 2009.
