opening doors 18 Endowed Scholarships & Community Scholars Scholarship Dinner provides us with the opportunity to recognize the leaders in our community championing financial aid at Latin School of Chicago. Building Latin's scholarship resources through endowed scholarships and the Community Scholars program is critical to our mission to increase access to a Latin education. Endowed scholarships and the Community Scholars program are ongoing opportunities for members of our community to significantly advance the school's financial aid program. Endowed scholarships provide a permanent source of income to help meet the immediate needs of exceptional students who have been admitted to Latin, but cannot attend without financial assistance. The Community Scholars program also helps to meet this need. Through generous multi- year grants, Community Scholar donors support students throughout their Latin career. "Without great teachers who cared about me, without the opportunities provided by financial aid awards during those early years, I would not be who I am; a venture capitalist, a champion of education and education technology, a former Fortune 500 executive at Google, a donor, a volunteer. Thank you." – Miriam Rivera '82, Scholarship Dinner 2010 Alumni Speaker We proudly recognize the following donors and share their inspiration for supporting our community and its students.
