Alumni Association Words from the Alumni Association President Fellow Romans, It's hard to believe that nearly three years have passed since I was honored with the Alumni Board presidency. As I prepare to make way for my successor, I've taken a moment to reect on my time in this role. I consider myself fortunate to have worked alongside highly clever, talented and energetic people at all levels of the school. I am amazed by – and grateful for – all the work that is done behind the scenes, by members of the Alumni Board, the board of trustees and our incredible faculty and sta. I don't think I fully appreciated how much extra eort goes into the day-to-day running of the school, to say nothing of our very full slate of special events and extracurricular activity. e ongoing dedication of so many people to Latin's mission should be a continual source of pride for all of us in the alumni community. I have also learned much about the challenges facing our school, and independent schools more generally. Technology, disruption, issues of equality and fairness, and the tumultuous global environment all require the deep consideration of anyone tasked with the long-term strategic direction of an institution such as Latin. I am reassured that the school's leadership and the board of trustees have actively embraced these issues, pushing ourselves to imagine creative solutions for the century to come. Finally, I have been inspired by my many interactions with the school's current students. eir brilliance is impressive, their enthusiasm is contagious, their courage is inspirational. ey are the best ambassadors for this unique institution. If you're an alumnus who has not yet had the chance to volunteer and work with these exceptional young ladies and gentlemen, please reach out to me directly if you'd like the opportunity to do so. To the entire Latin community: I've appreciated your trust and support. My 27 years as a Latin student and alumnus have given me countless reasons to say "thank you," and I leave you here with a nal expression of my most heartfelt gratitude. Go You Romans!
