Dorothy Malkin '01 celebrating her October wedding with fellow '01 grads Alice York, Gigi Stender, Christine Vacin and Kate Lennox. Dorothy Malkin married Dave Keady on October 29, 2011 on the shores of Lake Sebago in Maine. Dorothy and Dave met as counselors at nearby summer camps and had dreamed of being married there. The couple said their vows moments before it started to snow. Parents of the bride, Cary '67 and Lisa Klimley Malkin '71, along with sisters of the bride Victoria '06 and Lydia '10, happily celebrated with the couple, along with many other Latin alums including '01 classmates Christine Vacin, Kate Lennox, Alice York, Gigi Stender and Clare Gidwitz, as well as Kate Christy '99 and Lindsay Christy Ambroski '95. Kate Lennox has joined the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business Class of 2013, working toward an MBA. 2002 REUNION YEAR Scott Bronner Emily Hanan Caroline Holst Rogers David Smith After finishing his Ph.D. in physics at Caltech, Alex Himmel and his wife, Tiffany, moved to Durham, NC so he could take a position as a neutrino physicist at Duke University. Alex and Tiffany were married in Santa Barbara, CA in the summer of 2009 with many members of the class of '02 in attendance. Erika Palmer Laiche was the second place female winner in the Virginia Double Iron Triathlon 2011, finishing the 4.8 mile swim, 224 mile bike, and 52.4 mile run in 34:15:13 total. Congratulations, Erika! Eliza Ramirez sent the following in October: "I'm sitting here the night before a very exciting, humbling day. Tomorrow I receive the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching. It's funny to think I could be considered a great teacher when I still have so much to learn. In any case, I have a lot to be thankful for, including so many of my peers and teachers at Latin that lit my way to this proud moment." We are proud of you, Eliza! This September, David A. Smith married Logan Steiner in Manitou Springs, CO. In attendance were groomsmen and Latin '02 grads Jake Burack, Zach Feiger, Jason Gelbort, and Ben Samuels, as well as classmates Stefan Love, Margot Miller and Alex Himmel. After the ceremony, Ben caught the bouquet. Logan is an attorney at Mayer Brown LLP, and David is working on his Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Chicago. David Stone just won a W3 Gold Award for Video Editing. A filmmaker and video editor, David is working full-time as a video editor at American University, where he recently edited and helped produce a national television commercial for the university. He also recently directed a product video for Imerj Design that at press time had more than 160,000 views on YouTube. 2003 Julia Corrin Emily Daviau Kristofer Ekdahl Alice Mathias Catherine Gregg married Jim Loomis on June 24, 2011. Fellow Latin alums Anupama Selvam, Emma Gregg '10, Carrie Loomis '08, and Lauren Shatto rounded out the wedding party. The groom has several Latin connections: in addition to being brother of bridesmaid Carrie, he is also the son of current third grade teacher Lorraine Loomis.
