1973 David B. Seifer, MD, a Clinical Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at UMDNJ-Robert Wood and NYU Medical Schools, received an Inventor of the Year Award from the New Jersey Inventors Hall of Fame in October and a Thomas Alva Edison Patent Award from The Research & Development Council of New Jersey in November 2011. Dr. Seifer and his research partner created a test that is widely used in reproductive medicine and research in more than 50 countries worldwide for the purpose of assessing female fertility, predicting ovarian hyperstimulation, assessing egg supply of women prior to and following chemotherapy, and predicting menopause. 1976 Mimi Lutwick Fitzgerald Tracey Rappaport Greenwood Jeff Siegel We are sad to report that John D.R. Gill, Jr. passed away this May. He had been diagnosed with ALS at the end of 2007, shortly after the birth of his son. We extend our deepest sympathy to his family, friends and classmates. Tracey Rappaport Greenwood sends in this update: "Sorry I missed the 35th. I hope it was fantastic for everyone. Perhaps we'll all make it to the 40th; maybe I'll even race in Romans Run. I was briefly in Chicago this summer to get my mother moved to Maine. While I was in town, I was able to spend a little time with Sue Ocasek Clayton. Sue was extremely generous with her time and energy by heroically helping me get my mother's belongings packed up. My mother now lives two miles from my house. As my husband puts it, 'She is close enough where we can keep an eye on her but far enough away she won't just pop in!' At the same time that I was in town, Sue was packing her own belongings, and her mother's. Sue and her husband, Ed, moved in to a place big enough to accommodate her mom. It is kinda scary that we are now at the stage of our lives when it's time to care for our parents! Remember, we all love to hear what's going on so feel free to email me at trgreenw@colby.edu." John Vita was named global head of communications for public policy and external affairs at Grant Thornton International, a London-based accounting organization with member firms in 100 countries and 30,000 employees, and nearly $4 billion in revenues. John had been director of U.S. communications for Grant Thornton LLP, the U.S. member firm of Grant Thornton International. 1978 Liz Garvin Jody Ciral Williams enjoyed catching up with Nan Ruvel Winner, Debbie Calenoff Lipoff, Rhonda Sobel Robbins and Susan Blackman Eisen last summer. The exhibit ran this fall in Gallery 2, and the collage of portraits and a time lapse of mounting the exhibit can be viewed at lincolnschatz.com under "Recent Work".
