My hobby these days is volunteering at the Tel Aviv Tourist Information desk on the promenade by the Mediterranean. (I still edit in English and translate from French and Hebrew to English when projects come my way.) Been here nearly 30 years and still love living in Tel Aviv – it's a great combination of laid-back L.A. life in the sun; 24/7 NYC non-stop food, fun and culture; with a zest of European cafe life... and some super hi-tech start-up energy thrown into the mix. Worth a visit." Debbie Flack died on September 17, 2015 after an eight-year battle with cancer. After graduating from Latin, Debbie attended Indiana University, where she became an accomplished piano player. She taught piano for many years. An avid runner and cyclist, Debbie completed several marathons and cycling competitions. We extend our condolences to her brothers, Hugh '71 and Russell '75. Shayle Epstein sends his greetings: "It's been a while, my fellow Latinites. Lots of wonderful memories (and lots of not so wonderful ones, too). As my 16-year-old son enters his junior year at New Trier, I find myself reflecting on the old Scott street building and its inhabitants. e good news is that, unlike my son's generation, we actually had to talk with each other without electronic devices, and he listens to the same music we all did then. Here is a recent pix of my son Gabriel at 16.5 years young. Looking forward to connecting with all of you in person soon?!" Brooke Ferris writes: "Hi to all of my Latin School friends. I was at school for a few years only as a young child before my parents whisked me off to Argentina and Venezuela! I was at the school reunion about three years ago and had great fun seeing you all. I am a real estate broker in Vail, CO, and would love to see you here in our marvelous ski resort." brooke@vail.net Carolee Walker Halbert recently sent in a photo and notes: "I am still in real estate in Nassau, Bahamas, and spend quite a bit of time visiting with my daughters, my mother and my two granddaughters in San Francisco and Denver. I do plan on being at the '68 reunion, and really look forward to seeing everyone." Mary Wolbach Lopert reports: "My daughter is engaged, so it's nice to be planning something fun. Too much awful stuff going on in the world otherwise." As for Deborah Schaub: "I stopped running and racing 1.5 years ago and had a total knee replacement eight weeks ago. Very tough, painful and recovering very well. I fostered a dog, then another and adopted her, Chloe, 4.5 years old pit-lab mix. Still teaching fitness classes part time."
