the Midwest Publisher's Association for her book Budgie Bird Blues. e book has been translated into French, and the sequel is due out later this year. In addition, she is the president of the Service Club of Chicago. "Beth Reich Epand and her husband of 42 years, Ted, live in Scottsdale, AZ. ey have two children; Lauren, who lives in Denver, and Jason, who teaches in London and previously taught in Shanghai. "Hedwig Kimmons Golant has been married to Bob for 27 years. ey have three daughters and two grandchildren (a boy and a girl). eir youngest daughter, Emory, is studying to be a nurse practitioner at Rush University. Hedwig attended Rollins College, where she was friends with people I knew years later in Pennsylvania and Connecticut! One of them is soon to be Lady Gaga's father-in-law! e Golants head to their home in Polson, MT during the hot Chicago summer. "Hedwig has remained close friends with Jean Flood, an OB-GYN in Pennsylvania; Andy Schor who is in real estate in the Palm Beach area; and Jamie Kelley Bemis who lives in Concord, MA with her husband. e Bemises have an amazing organic farm, which I visited several years ago. Jamie and Hedwig spend a couple of weeks together in Palm Beach every year. "Donny Devoe still lives in the Chicago area and plays poker and golf with Rick Presmen '68, John Himmel '68 and Bart Gorelick, who lives in Los Angeles. "Tina Endicott is a professor at Middlebury College in Vermont. Jed Mandel is an attorney in Chicago, as is Abbey Botkin. Charles Manker and his wife, Susan, live in between their homes in Okatie, SC and Cape Cod. Charles' brother, Philip Manker '67, passed away 18 months ago. He was living in Milton, MA and was an artist and a designer, and was passionate about all green living things. Neil Coleman is living the good life in Paris. "Several members of the Class of '70 attended our 45th Class Reunion in October. Many of us had not seen each other in more than 45 years, and it was so much fun to meet and talk about our years together at Latin and our years apart since then. e attendees included Carol Anderson, Margaret Elliott, Bob and Hedwig Golant, Nan Goldberg, Debby Sall, Anne Cordes, John and Kathy Cook, Mary Olian, Abbey Botkin, Robert Clarke, Jed Mandel, Andy Schor, Ginger Ryser, Jody Kallis Nash, David Perry, Chloe Winterbotham, Jane Maxwell and me. We also were fortunate to have a few orphans join us – Irv Olian '66, Susan Haskins Doloff '68, Malcolm McDonald '71 and James Meserow '69. "Recently I had lunch with John Scholnick '72, who was a close friend of my brother David. John is an attorney in Chicago, and during our conversation he informed me that he was in touch with Betsy Heimann, who still lives in Los Angeles and designs costumes, lingerie and jewelry. Also he ran into David Perry at an event near Berkeley in Northern California. "It's been a treat to catch up with so many of my classmates, and I hope I can find the rest of you! Please stay in touch and keep your contact information up to date so that we can continue to share news with each other. Last year, we came in second place for donations received from an alumni class.
