At press time the Romans were preparing to compete in the sectional meet at the UIC natatorium. Varsity Tennis Head Coach: Carl Abram Assistant Coaches: Matt Dupont, Cassie Loch, Stefanie May Record: 11-3 ISL Place: 1st Sectional Champions State: 14th Place Girls' tennis had a stellar season. e team went undefeated in the ISL conference dual competition again this year and won the ISL conference tournament. e girls tied for first place in the sectional tournament and qualified three players for state. Freshman Alessandra Bianco '18 finished tied for seventh place in the singles draw, and senior captains Miya Coleman and Kendall Sievewright finished in the top 32 in the doubles draw. Latin earned 14th place overall out of 103 schools. Varsity Volleyball Head Coach: Shari Davis Assistant Coach: Deb Sampey Record: 27-6 ISL Place: 1st Girls volleyball had an outstanding season with a stellar record. Strong tournament performances included a win at the Latin Invitational, a first in the tournament's 35-year history, and a first-place finish at the MICDS Tournament in St. Louis. e Romans went undefeated in the ISL and made it to the 3A regional championship game.
