The Kelly McKinnell Memorial Award
for Excellence in Photography

Kelly McKinnell, who graduated in 1995 and later
became a photography instructor for the Live & Learn
program, loved Latin School and loved photography.
When she unexpectedly passed away in 2003,
her classmates, friends and co-workers endowed a
photography award in her name. The Kelly McKinnell
Award for Excellence in Photography is presented
annually to a graduating senior who shows a passion
and talent for photography, a unique and creative eye
for capturing a scene, and a willingness to explore new
techniques available with new technology.
The Alumni Cup Award
Simon Ricci
Established by the Alumni Association, this award
recognizes the student in the freshman class who has
demonstrated outstanding academic accomplishments,
intellectual curiosity and love of learning.
Cum Laude Society
The Cum Laude Society is a national honorary society
for academically excellent secondary school students.
Created in 1955, the Latin School Chapter of
Cum Laude may elect to membership not more than
20 percent of the senior class who have demonstrated
academic excellence and not more than 10 percent of
the junior class with the same qualifications.
