Auction for All
More than 750 parents, alumni and friends of Latin
attended Latin's bi-annual auction event at the Fairmont
Chicago hotel in February. The event, themed Auction for
All, raised more than $1.2 million for the school and was
our most successful to date in terms of volunteer effort,
community spirit and dollars raised!
The event featured more than 600 auction items at all
price points, including a catered Air & Water Show party
on the middle school green roof, tickets to a taping of
"CSI," seven spaces on a St. Patrick's Day float and the
ever-popular overnighters in the middle and lower schools.
In addition to those who attended Auction for All,
many more provided underwriting support, purchased
ads, raffle tickets and merchandise. Most significantly,
more than 300 volunteers lent precious time to make
everything come together. Whether it was serving on the
Auction Committee, donating or helping to secure
merchandise, encouraging others to attend, or making
the night run so smoothly by setting up at the hotel or
volunteering during the auction, they helped in ways that
can only be measured by the strength of our community
and the success of our students.
It was a great achievement for our school and a
wonderful evening for fun, festivities and school spirit!
