class notes 1976 Liz Garvin writes: "It seems like a million years ago when we were at Latin and yet here I am again, asking for updates on any of you. While I am still busy, our clients are cutting back. In April, I went back to brown bagging and at the beginning of February, I started a diet . . . sigh, calorie counting". Miriam Lutwak Fitzgerald, Tracey D. Greenwood, Jeffrey Siegel Pamela Williams writes: "Thanks to Facebook, I have been in touch with many from Latin and realized that I couldn't remember when I last sent an update to class notes. I have been living in the Washington D.C. area for the last two years. Although I moved here for work, I particularly enjoy being near the Chesapeake. Having learned to sail several years ago, now I can actually do it regularly. What a great time to be here and get to experience the Inaugural events first hand. I have been divorced for eight years and have two daughters 15 and 17, who are boarding students at George School in Newtown, PA. I work at an independent girls school in Bethesda as an upper school counselor, and have worked in schools for the last 10 years, teaching English and counseling. I was at a conference in December and met the current middle school counselor at Latin! Small world. Please get in touch if you are in the DC area." Lael Williams Melville shares that she and her husband are "busy raising our three sons. We have a son at Colgate, Plano West Sr. High and the Hun School of Princeton! It has been a pleasure being their mom! I still get to speak and mentor about psychology. My husband, Randy, (of almost 25 years) is a senior vice president with Frito Lay. Probably the greatest thing about right now is that at almost 50 I have just reach a lot of resolve about what is important and what is not. It is good! We went to both the Super Bowl and Fiesta Bowl. This spring, we will work with a missions group to support a community in need." Rich Feingold reports that he is "working hard at my business helping disabled adults and kids obtain Social Security disability benefits, and enjoying it." 1978 Liz Garvin During the Presidential Inauguration, Carey Lundin Frazel filmed video-postcards for Shepard Fairey's Be The Change site. Shepard Fairey is the street artist who created the Obama Hope poster, now hanging in the National Gallery. Carey's team also filmed the entire presidential campaign from Obama's launch in Springfield until his inauguration. When not following President Obama, Carey executive produces a Web series called "Citizen Kate," an outsider's view of inside politics, which has had more than two million hits. She plans to turn "Citizen Kate" into a documentary about her experiences on the campaign trail and a subsequent TV series about Kate's next adventures. (See our new Marketplace section for details.) Andy Benn writes: "Greetings from Northern California. I continue in cardiology practice (17 years now – wasn't I late for Mrs. Lambraikis' class just five minutes ago?) in a 22 doc, single-specialty group. My wife, Laura, is growing her health advocacy company. We remain outside San Francisco, alone with our Portugese Water Dog, Smudge – for we are now officially empty nesters! Whitney is a junior up at the University of Oregon. Ali is a freshman at Loyola Marymount in L.A. My vow for 2009? Work less, ski more – 11 days so far, with a goal of 20! I'd love for anyone with plans to come to the Bay Area to drop by." 1 2 1 Susan Blackman Eisen, Rhonda Sobel Robbins, Nan Ruvel Winner and Jody Ciral Williams (all '78) at Rhonda's house this February 2009. 2 Thania Papas St. John with her family. 36 Latin Magazine
