Doo Kim Erasmus Society The Kelly McKinnell Memorial Award for Excellence in Photography Doo Kim Kelly McKinnell, who graduated in 1995 and later became a photography instructor for the Live & Learn program, loved Latin School and loved photography. When she unexpectedly passed away in 2003, her classmates, friends and coworkers endowed a photography award in her name. The Kelly McKinnell Award for Excellence in Photography is presented annually to a graduating senior who shows a passion and talent for photography, a unique and creative eye for capturing a scene, and a willingness to explore new techniques available with new technology. Cum Laude Society The Cum Laude Society is a national honorary society for academically excellent secondary school students. Created in 1955, the Latin School Chapter of Cum Laude may elect to membership not more than 20 percent of the senior class who have demonstrated academic excellence and not more than 10 percent of the junior class with the same qualifications. The following students were elected to membership this year: Grade 11: Christina Bianco, Brian Dhingra, Julianna Jarik, Thomas Kloehn, Lynden Lee, Mehr Singh, Andrew Nadler, Ian Spear, Rachel Stone, Kevin Ward, Peter Wiggin Grade 12: Kara Bank, Lindsey Bell, Eloise Cotton, Elizabeth Guynn, Kunal Koppula, Thomas Lue, Benjamin Manis, James Thurm, Julie Sarne, Catherine Tyree, Elaine Zhou Seniors chosen at the end of their junior year: Michaella Baker, Alexander Kling, Brittany Kraff, Stephanie Malek, Emily Pate, Katherine Pollock, Nicole Schonitzer, Mitchell Stone, Jessica Tannenbaum, Darcy Tuttle, Ciprian Zahan In 1964, Latin School���s faculty established the Erasmus Society, which is unique to the school. The society recognizes and encourages intellectual curiosity, interest and achievement including ��� but not limited to ��� formal scholastic achievement. Students in grades 10 through 12 who demonstrate academic excellence, genuine intellectual curiosity and devotion to learning beyond a concern for grades and college admission are eligible for membership, which is awarded by faculty vote.
