ALUMNI EVENTS Latin on the Road: Regional Alumni Gatherings Diana Woolf Tichner 52 and Alumni Relations Director Stephanie Chu in Needham, MA. Over the course of the last year, Randall Dunn and the Alumni Office hit the road to visit alumni in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Florida, Washington, DC, New York City and Boston. Randall appreciated the warm reception he received from all of the groups and the opportunity to learn about Latins history from so many different perspectives. Starting in January, well be headed out again, so please check your mailbox and email to find out about upcoming gatherings. So far, Sadath Garcia 00 holds the record for most geographically diverse Latin events attended in a calendar year: He was able to join us in L.A. and Chicago (for Scholarship Dinner) in February, in Washington in June, and in Boston in October. Any challengers? You dont have to wait for an official event to find out about fellow Romans living nearby! Log in to the online directory at www.latinalumni.org and see how many fellow Romans live in your area, or download the Latin Alumni iPhone/Droid app. n Polina Kropacheva 01, Dave Diaz 88 and Sadath Garcia 00 with Randall Dunn in Washington, DC. front row: John Bohar, Damon Raike 45, Christine Smith Bohar 65, Kathryn Spector Lasater 87, Shar Carlyle 71 (kneeling), Randall Dunn, Ayaka Emoto 01, Lauren Richter 01, Alumni Director Stephanie Chu; middle: John Hyun 86, Scott Becker 92, PAL Doug Carlucci, PAL Julie Carlucci, faculty alumnus Matt Casey, PAL Terri Doyle, Cristina Soeiro, Bobby Forloine 98, Valerie Uribe, Darienne Myers 05, Jennifer Johnson 93; back row: Angelos Dassios 92, John Stassen 92, faculty alumnus Anson Kendall 98, Tim Twerdahl 87, and faculty alumnus Anil Chopra in San Francisco. One degree of separation: Elizabeth Roesel (center) came to the DC alumni gathering with her husband Dr. Tom Roesel 72, thinking she wouldnt know anyone. A fun Latin connection came to light when she ran into Latham & Watkins colleague Greg Sobolski 00.
