ALUMNI EVENTS Alumni Week ALUMNI WEEK: Lesly Adolph Koo ���88 shows off her yearbook to the delight of her SKer. & National Latin Day 2012 Each spring, Latin celebrates the role and involvement of alumni in the life of the school. Last spring, alumni appeared in a variety of ways at the school and gathered outside the walls of Latin to honor their ties to the school and each other. Within the building, JK and SK alumni parents came to school to tell a little bit about their time at Latin and share a favorite book. Third and fourth graders perused senior yearbook photos and wrote letters to some Golden Romans, asking about their time at Latin. Middle and upper school students answered Latin history trivia questions and searched the buildings for hidden photos of alums. Our Hidden Romans were so popular that a series of imposters turned up during the searches. These ���faux-Romans��� kept the students on their toes. At the end of the week, a team of alumni took on a team of eighth graders in the Second Annual Roman Cup Trivia Challenge. Answering questions about Latin history and from the middle school curriculum, Taylor Cope ���01 and Danielle Carlson ���06 emerged victorious over the students by drawing the school crest from memory. The record stands tied with one annual victory for each side. This Alumni Week also marked our first celebration of National Latin Day. Latin alumni marked the day by wearing Latin gear, emailing friends, posting shout-outs on Facebook and meeting up with fellow alums. Thanks to our alums at Chicago establishments Chizakaya, Eduardo���s Enoteca, Frankie Scallopine, Harry Caray���s, Metropolis Caf��, Rockit Bar & Grill, Rockit Burger Bar and Sunda, and at El Toro Cantina in L.A. for being gathering spots in 2012.
