ALUMNI from Cam McKinney 93 The school is in the final stages of launching a new iPhone/Droid app that will allow you to connect with fellow alumni and their LinkedIn profiles at the touch of a button. 54 This is shaping up to be a very exciting time for Latin School and for our 4,500 alumni around the globe. The headliner, of course, is the planning of our 125th anniversary celebration next fall. While the events span September through June, watch for news about our extra-special Reunion Weekend October 4-6, 2013, which will include all generations of alumni. Those of us with coinciding milestone reunions have added incentive to attend the celebration, if only to experience the utter shock of how long its been since we roamed the Loggia (now a conference room), sat in the senior lounge (now a computer room) or strolled by the Eleanor Club (now the middle school). The school has never looked better, and ample credit is due to all those involved in this remarkable transformation. Make plans to come and see for yourself. This year is also very exciting because it marks a new high point in our ongoing efforts to promote closer connections among alumni and with the school. In conjunction with the L AT I N M AGAZINE Alumni Association President Alumni Office, we have launched various efforts to better meet the demands from our growing alumni network to stay connected, both to each other and to the school. Our interest in connecting professionally with one another was clearly evident during our first-ever Latin Professional Connections event, held at the end of November at Googles Chicago offices. A very special thank you goes out to our panelists John Edelman 76, Gigi Pritzker Pucker 80, Billy Dec 90, Collin Levy 93, Pam Netzky 93 and Alexi Giannoulias 94; to organizers Danielle Drabkin 95, Jeremy Katz 95 and Mike Klong 95, sponsor of Chicago coffee and teas; and to host Kelly Davis Seeman 95 of Google for making our inaugural event such a huge success. With more than 100 attendees in November, its safe to say we will look to plan more of these events in the future, with an eye toward expanding their reach outside of Chicago. On the technology side, we have again broken new ground for Latin beyond the alumni website and existing mobile site. The school is in the final stages of launching a new iPhone/Droid app that will allow you to connect with fellow alumni and their LinkedIn profiles at the touch of a button, which I know for many will be a welcome enhancement. Our ability to connect professionally and personally through Latin is dependent on each of us keeping our contact information up to date with the Alumni Office, so please make sure to be in touch with them. We have a lot to be thankful for this year, and I could not be more proud of where we have come as a group and where we are going as a school and alumni community. Best wishes for a happy and healthy 2013! n
