Many of us will recall how she started being seriously impacted from the crippling disease when she was in her middle school years. She was an amazingly gifted and sweet person who suffered more than many of us can ever comprehend. In spite of her physical handicap, she was an incredible athlete, musician, actress, prolific writer and comic. We watched her start to disintegrate before our eyes with little complaint from her. As her dear friend Marisa stated, She loved life so much. It was heartbreaking. Everyone who helped at the end was in awe of her determination to hang on. She touched so many people that never even knew her until the end. I was always in awe of her ability to maintain her amazing sense of humor. She never wanted to burden anyone else with her suffering, and insisted upon being the entertainer. She was an awesome force. She contributed a lot to this community, as did her mother. Cece passed away with no known surviving family members but surrounded by her dear friends in Bluffton, SC. She will be missed, but not forgotten, by her friends at Latin and around the globe. 1966 45th REUNION CLASS Please join us in Chicago September 23-25 to celebrate our 45th Reunion! Contact alumni@latinschool.org for more information. 1967 John Friedman We are sorry to report that we lost Jerilyn Solomon Fyffe on April 17, 2011. Jerilyn had serious lung issues that finally overtook her strong spirit. After graduating, she taught art to children before joining her husband, Garon, in building a wildlife retrieval business. When she could no longer leave the house, Jerilyn stayed busy by serving as the family secretary. At any moment she knew where every member of her extended family was, what they were doing and what their plans were. Her life was always filled with family and the love of children, particularly her beloved granddaughter, Prairie. She will be missed. Jerilyn Solomon Fyffe in 1963. Latin School of Chicago 49
