Enhanced Learning Spaces at 45 W. North
UP FRONT
In celebration of the completion of one of
the largest construction projects in Latin's
history, parents, students, alumni, faculty
and staff gathered on January 4 for the
official opening of Latin's new state-of-theart upper school science center and tours
of the completed fifth and sixth grade suite
and middle school art room.
Romans of all ages were amazed by the
learning spaces and innovative educational
tools that were included in the completion of
the third and fourth floors of our building
at 45 W. North Boulevard. From the sciencebased art installations, multimedia displays
and hands-on learning opportunities in the
science center to the creative spaces in the
middle school art room, visitors had a chance
to see just some of the highlights of the learning
experience at Latin.
Alumnae Lynn Orschel and Abra Prentice
Wilkin were on hand to cut the ribbon for
the new Class of 1960 Independent Study
Lab. The lab, which is solely dedicated to
long-term independent research projects by
students, was made possible by gifts from the
entire class. This space is just one of many
in the 15,000-square-foot facility focused on
further developing science literacy and critical
reasoning skills for our ninth- through twelfthgrade students.
