The Chapman Family Scholarship Endowment The Chapman family has been a part of the Latin community since 1961 as students, parents, volunteers and board members. We have actively supported all aspects of the school, from art to athletics and auctions to ads, but our commitment to scholarship is the one we find most fulfilling. To be able to open the doors of Latin to a more diverse group of kids only serves to make it a greater place for everyone lucky enough to walk through those doors. We want to help make that happen. The Latin experience is not just about a first-rate education; it is about the people who create that experience. The faculty, the staff, the parents and the students all come together to create a community in which we support and enrich one another. We believe a scholarship to Latin benefits the school as much as the student. We established this endowment to provide a Latin education to a deserving student who might not otherwise receive one as well as to provide Latin with the diverse group of students it needs to continue to meet and exceed its goals. After our 20 years as parents at Latin, with our last child graduating in 2016, people often ask, "Do you think you will still be involved with the school after you leave?" The answer is that we cannot leave something that has become a part of who we are. We are proud to be a part of the Latin community and to be able to help welcome others to become a part of it as well. Sandy & Bob Chapman '78 Scholarship Dinner 2018 23
