Gordon Family Extended Day Endowment Fund
The environment that welcomes their children after the school day ends is of great importance to families who rely
upon additional care after the dismissal bell rings. We created the Gordon Family Extended Day Endowment to support
programming, increase staff and provide scholarship opportunities for children and families who participate in this
wonderful program in the lower school. As working parents, we were concerned about how we would handle after
school care for our son when he entered junior kindergarten. After touring Latin and learning about the extended day
program, we found ourselves at ease knowing that the Extended Day program was available to us. Four years and two
children enrolled later, we couldn't be happier with our choice to not only attend Latin, but to take advantage of the
Extended Day program as well.
Children are provided the opportunity to play, do homework, relax, or participate in organized activities upon entering
Extended Day. It provides a safe and welcoming atmosphere for those who need care after school. Students also enjoy
getting to see friends that they may not otherwise get to interact with during the day, thereby providing a fun social
atmosphere to keep them busy until pick up. The staff behind extended day is enthusiastic and fully engaged in the
programming they provide which is evident to everyone!
We believe that this endowment will help further strengthen a program that means a lot to us, and in turn benefit the
lower school students and families who rely upon it.
