Latin's sports camps share the philosophy of Latin's athletics program, which looks to develop confident, enthusiastic, and disciplined athletes who use their full physical potential and learn the value of teamwork and the importance of sportsmanship. We strive to develop leadership and ethical behavior in our athletes, while encouraging a life-long love for sports and fitness. NEW Junior Triathlon camp Latin Aquatics Director and Certified USA Triathlon coach Danielle Carlson will lead campers in a week-long training for junior triathletes following the Chicago Triathlon's(™) motto: "swim, ride, run and fun!" Athletes will learn foundational triathlon skills so they can successfully navigate between swimming, biking, and running on race day. Lincoln Park Baseball Academy (LPBA), a Chicago-based organization focused on baseball instruction for boys and girls, will lead this camp at Latin. This camp will provide players with a camp experience that is safe, challenging, fun and educational. 3Point Athletics will lead Latin's summer basketball camps. Campers can expect to increase their skill level with high quality instruction. Skills, techniques, game strategy and conditioning all will be covered, and lay the groundwork for overall improvement. The one-week camps will emphasize the positive benefits of the sport: discipline, dedication, sportsmanship and fun. Led by Latin coaches, Volleyball camp provides campers with excellent instruction in spiking, setting, blocking, passing and serving – the fundamental skills necessary to become a well-rounded volleyball player. Scrimmaging will be a major component, while campers focus on good sportsmanship and having fun. If you're looking for a great summer job or challenging career that's in demand, the Red Cross Lifeguarding program is the place to start. Latin's own Aquatics Director, Danielle Carlson, will teach participants the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies and prevent drownings and injuries.
