At Latin, every child is known as an individual and a learner. Small class sizes and a student-centered approach allow teachers to understand the way each child learns best and how he or she can reach individualized measures of success. Latin's staff of counselors and learning resources specialists make our support of each student comprehensive, giving kids the energy and confidence needed to actively engage in learning. Faculty and Staff Professional Development Our faculty and student support staff seek out opportunities to improve their curriculum and practice. Here is a sampling of their professional development experiences: n "Mindfulness for Educators": mindfulness techniques to use in the classrooms and ways to keep faculty and staff healthy and focused n "When Computer Science Meets Library Science: Coding, Robotics and Maker-Centered Learning in Elementary School": hands-on exploration of popular computer science tools and inspiring innovative thinking and learning in students n "The Right to Fulfill Their Dreams: Destigmatizing Support Services for Students of Color": the importance of student support services for students of color n "Erikson Early Math Collaborative": workshop for educators on foundational math for our youngest learners The teachers at atin are really open, they really want to help you, they are always encouraging me to come meet with them." — UPPER SCHOOL STUDENT Our student athletes learn the value of teamwork and the importance of sportsmanship on the field and then utilize those skills in the classroom and beyond.
