Around School News & Notes Trustee News On July 1, the school welcomed the following trustees to serve on the board: Paul Furlow is co-president of Dixon Midland Company LLC, a Chicago-based alternative investments firm. He also serves on the Chicago Board of the Positive Coaching Alliance. Paul earned an MBA and an M.A. from Stanford University and a B.A. from the University of Michigan. At Latin, Paul served on the board's Academic Committee and has helped coach two of the middle school Science Olympiad teams. Paul and his wife, Asha, have two children currently enrolled at Latin: Sophie '19 and William '21. Scott Kaniewski is senior vice president of HREC Investment Advisors, a property and mortgage brokerage firm that specializes in providing advisory services to the hospitality and gaming industry. Prior to joining HREC, Scott was a founding partner of Cortona Partners/Laurus Strategies, a firm specializing in providing real estate and corporate advisory services. Scott is a certified public accountant and received his bachelor's degree from Indiana University Kelley School of Business. Scott serves as a Latin Fund ambassador and served as parent co-chair of the Endowment Campaign for Latin. He and his wife Stacey have two children attending Latin: Connor '17 and Liza '18. Annmarie Neumeier joined the board as a senior trustee. In previous years, she has served in numerous leadership roles as a trustee and parent at Latin, including president of the Parents Council (2002-2004), co-chair of the Auction (2007 and 2009), secretary of the board of trustees (2006-2009), and chair of several board committees including Development and Student Life. More recently, Annmarie has co-chaired the Annual Fund (2014-2017) and serves as a trustee for High Jump. Prior to moving to Chicago, Annmarie worked in the Office of Political Affairs at the White House and as a consultant for fundraising and political events. She earned her B.A. from Michigan State University. She has four children: Ruthie '07, Emilie '11, Matthew '16, and Lily '25. Sarah Norris is a director at BBR Partners, a wealth management firm. Prior to joining BBR Partners, she was an executive director at J.P. Morgan Private Bank. Sarah received her bachelor's degree from Brown University and an MBA from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management. Sarah is currently the board president for Near North Montessori School and served on the board for Polyphony Magazine (2012-2016). She serves as Latin's Parent Association athletic chair and is a member of the Investment Committee. Sarah and her husband, Cliff, have four children: Molly '16, Sophie '17, Max '19 and Lucy, who currently attends Near North Montessori School. Rendel Solomon '96 is a principal with Muller & Monroe Asset Management (M²), a Chicago-based private equity firm. Prior to joining M², Rendel was an entrepreneur in the media and entertainment industry in New York and a project engineer for e Procter & Gamble Company in Cincinnati. Rendel obtained his B.S. from Tulane University and his MBA from Columbia Business School. In 2016, Rendel founded the non-profit One Stock One Future to provide a sense of empowerment and opportunity to underserved youth by turning them into public company shareholders. Rendel was recently recognized as one of the Chicago Defender Men of Excellence and by e Network Journal as one of its 40 Under 40. He has served on Latin's board as an alumni trustee for the past three years. We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to those who completed their service this past year: Reverend John Buchanan, Philip Canfield, Stephen Quazzo and Beth White.
