Greetings from the Head of School
Dear Friends,
Welcome to Gala. It is our love for Latin that brings us
together tonight.
This year's "love" theme embodies the recognition and
affection we all have for Latin, and also represents the
gratitude and respect Latin has for its community. I am
continuously overwhelmed by your support and generosity.
Tonight, we celebrate our love for Latin and everything that makes our school unique.
It is said that the most precious thing you can give besides love is labor. And there are people here
tonight who have been particularly generous in giving of their labor in order to make this event
a reality. I am beyond grateful for all they have done. I'd like to thank our chairs, Jacqui Hawwa,
Jennifer Kim, Jennifer Prewitt, Lisa Murray Sartin, Juliana Schafer and Jodi Wolf '88 for their
extraordinary energy, commitment and their hard work. I would like to especially thank all of
the parents, faculty and staff who have volunteered to work this evening to make everything run
so smoothly.
A quick glance at the incredibly generous donations featured in our Silent and Live Auctions will be
enough to demonstrate our collective love for Latin and desire for growing our programs. I share my
appreciation for our donors on behalf of the entire student body and our faculty and staff.
And thank you for loving Latin.
