Third Graders Meet Famous Chicagoan
In social studies this year, third graders
have been discovering Chicago's past by
studying its rich and diverse history.
ey have also researched historical
figures in the city, and on November 18,
were visited by one of Chicago's very own:
former mayor Richard M. Daley. Daley,
who served as the city's mayor for 22
years, answered a variety of questions by
the third grade – from the hard-hitting:
What was the biggest change in the 22
years you were mayor? What event would
you change in Chicago's history? What
would you do today if you were mayor?
– to the questions we all really want
to know the answers to: What is your
favorite restaurant in Chicago? Who is
your favorite Chicago White Sox player?
Answers: Gibsons and Chris Sale.
Daley then received a tour of the building
by lower school teacher Daley Chan who
