Around School News & Notes DiaNe saltouN Diane Saltoun is the executive inspector general for the Illinois Attorney General's Office. Prior to this appointment, Diane spent over a decade as a federal prosecutor with the U.S. Attorney's Office in Chicago where she served as a deputy chief in the Criminal Division and the co-coordinator of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a federal, state and local initiative to reduce gun violence. Diane also served as a member of the faculty at the University of Chicago Law School and a member of the adjunct faculty at Northwestern University, John Marshall and Loyola University Law Schools. Diane has served as a trustee of High Jump (currently Governance Committee chair), the Lycee Francais de Chicago (vice-chair, Governance Committee chair, Education Committee co-chair), Court eatre, and Los Amigos de Las Americas - Chicago Urban Chapter. Diane has held a number of positions with Latin's Parent Association, including grade chair, co-president of the upper school and currently co-president of the Parent Association. maury togNarelli Maury Tognarelli is the chief executive officer of Heitman and an equity owner of the global real estate investment management firm. He is a member of the Heitman's executive committee, board of managers and management committee and also chairs the private equity and debt investment committees. Maury started his career at Heitman as an investment analyst in the firm's North American private equity group. In 2002, he became the firm's chief executive officer. His responsibilities include day-to-day management of Heitman's operations and its investment activity. Maury received a B.S. in real estate finance from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business. He is a member of the Real Estate Roundtable and Pension Real Estate Association. Maury has served as a member of Latin's Facilities Committee since 2014. Valerie wiley '69 In addition to being an alumna of Latin School, Valerie Wiley is a parent of an alumna (Lexi '12) and a former parent volunteer. She also served on the Parent Association as chair of the Upper School Roundtable (2005-2006). Professionally, Valerie is the founder and director of e Schools Group, a nonprofit organization that trains graduate psychology students by placing them in Chicago Public Schools as counseling interns at no cost to the schools. Prior to shifting her focus to clinical training, Valerie spent seven years working as a mental health consultant to the Chicago Board of Education and working in a variety of school settings as a clinical counselor. Valerie received a bachelor's degree in sociology with honors from Bryn Mawr College, returned to Chicago and worked for Leo Burnett Company before becoming an independent marketing consultant. She then returned to school to earn an M.A. in counseling psychology. Around School 12b
