Here you will live with purpose Here you will live with purpose. Our mission statement directs students to "lead lives of purpose and excellence." Our students learn that it is not enough to be good, they must also do good – at school, in their neighborhoods, throughout the city and around the world. Upper schoolers explore their interests by committing to at least 30 service hours, with many continuing on beyond that requirement. NUMBER OF SERVICE HOURS COMPLETED BY UPPER SCHOOL STUDENTS IN 2015-16 Our lower school students learn early that the Roman Way is paved with kindness, manners and civility. Our Partnership with Uptown Latin launched the Uptown Partnership in 2012 to provide opportunities for students at all grade levels to engage with a Chicago community in meaningful ways while serving the needs of a neighborhood. The initiative grew out of two successful, long-term community relationships the school already had with McCutcheon Elementary School and Uptown Baptist Soup Kitchen. Middle schoolers take on the role of teacher through our long-standing tutoring partnership with McCutcheon Chicago Public School. Our shared values of excellence, community and integrity have connected our community since 1888." — RANDALL DUNN, HEAD OF SCHOOL
