Scholarship Dinner 2016 Many years ago on a night much like this, people like you decided to invest in students like me. I had the academic achievement and desire for rigor, but the key was opportunity through financial support." — Jasmine Arrington '11 e overwhelming support for Scholarship Dinner 2016 on February 27 once again showed just how deeply our families are committed to making the Latin School experience possible for even more of Chicago's most talented students. Eighty-seven hosts who graciously opened their homes, their 800-plus guests, along with 100 volunteers helped to raise more than $1.2 million for Latin's financial aid program. While supporting scholarship was the mission of the evening, community and connection are the heart and soul of Scholarship Dinner. Guests celebrated the close relationships, common values and rich differences that Latin families share as Romans of Chicago. From Class of 2011 alumna Jasmine Arrington's moving reflection about how a grant to attend Latin changed her life, to the enthusiastic paddle raise, the heartfelt middle school musical performance and the dinners that went on until the wee hours, it was a wonderful evening for all. A special thank you to Scholarship Dinner Co-Chairs Gwen & Nick Pontikes and Clara & David Williams and their dedicated team of volunteers for making this beloved community event a rousing success!
