In Print 3. tony manSueto '74 Tony's ninth book, The Ways of Wisdom: Towards a Global, Postsecular, Convivencia Theology was recently published by Wipf and Stock. He is also involved in developing "The Desire to Be God," an altereality game and nonlinear magical realist science fiction narrative designed to promote exploration of fundamental questions of meaning and value and spiritual and political engagement at the longue duree civilizational level, and "Guide for the Perplexed," a mentoring practice designed to help people explore what it means to be human and find their own distinctive vocation in a way that engages resources across as well as within spiritual and civilizational traditions. It's about a woman in labor and the nurse who attends to her, the relationship they forge and the complicated pasts that have brought each to this moment in time. Pamela will be on tour with her novel beginning in May. She will be at Kramerbooks (Washington, DC), on June 27, and at Tin House Summer Workshop (Portland, OR), July 10 -17. 5. mike berlanD '86 Michael's new book, Become a Fat-Burning Machine: Lose the Belly, End Sugar Cravings, Gain Energy, has been featured in The New York Times and on "The Dr. Oz Show." With recipes, fitness plans, restaurant tips and personal anecdotes, the book addresses what doctors call "metabolic syndrome," an affliction that prevents certain people from effectively breaking down sugar and burning fat.
