Chris Arnold passed away on October 30, 2015. Chris was an accomplished writer, composer, lyricist, event producer, photojournalist, art gallerist and collector. He dazzled with his knowledge – quoting Caesar in Latin, Homer in Greek or Shakespeare in rhyme – and was the life of the party with his musicality, often playing the piano and singing his own parodies of Cole Porter tunes. Chris worked in public relations for many years with his close friend Ted Kruckel at Ted, Inc. roughout his life, Chris loved photography. A decades-long friendship with legendary photographer Bert Stern steered him to the art world, where he became associated with the Keszler Gallery in Southampton, a venue recognized for its local support of the artist Banksy, as documented in an HBO special. A graduate of Phillips Academy Andover, after spending a year at Rugby School in Warwickshire, England, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania. We extend our condolences to his brothers Rome '73 and Greg '76, and his family, classmates and friends. Pamela Erens writes: "My third novel, Eleven Hours, will be published on May 3. I'm happy to say it's received excellent pre-publication reviews (and was Publishers' Weekly's Pick of the Week). It's about a woman in labor (yup, for 11 hours) and the nurse who attends her: the relationship they forge and the complicated pasts that have brought each to this moment in time." (See more in Marketplace.) Pamela has been living in New Jersey for the past 21 years and still maintains some precious friendships from Latin. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 1982 Lincoln Schatz and Clare Pinkert welcomed Simone Pinkert Au Schatz in November of 2015. Ilyce Glink Tamkin writes: "Well, our youngest son is awaiting his college acceptances (how I ended up with two engineering-oriented sons is beyond comprehension), and I'm keeping busy building a new financial wellness company that aims to reduce financial stress for employees while still running ink Glink Media. If you're in the neighborhood, stop by our offices in downtown Glencoe and say hi. Looking forward to our next reunion." - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Class Notes Latin Magazine » Spring 2016 41
