Seniors in Pursuit of Excellence Members of the Class of 2015 punctuated their Latin experience over two days in early June by sharing their personal talents, research interests and passions with one another and their families by presenting a Senior or Capstone project. For nearly a decade, Latin students in their final year have had the opportunity to work on year-long interdisciplinary research projects through the Capstone program, an outgrowth of Latin's long-running Independent Studies program. More recently, seniors could also apply to share their personal interests through the less academically focused Senior Projects. Both programs have resulted in some truly inspirational final moments with our graduating seniors. is year, 70 students presented a variety of interests and talents that they not only have, but are also challenging themselves to make the most of. Projects included one student's year-long Capstone research on spectroscopic observation of the Earth's atmosphere and another student's performance of songs from the album she wrote, played a variety of instruments on, sang lead and back up vocals for and produced. Other projects included poetry, creative writing, filmmaking, cooking, fashion design, stand-up comedy, metal working, concussions in sports, social justice and more.
