15 credit card using the BidPal system will be notified of their winning bids and the total amount to be billed to their credit card. Those who have not pre-registered their credit card must "Express Check-Out" using BidPal or proceed to the check-out area. After payment is completed, the bidder should go to the appropriate section to claim his or her merchandise: the respective Silent Auction category, Live Auction display, or the Gift Certificate table. Distribution managers will have access to proof of payment, and only once items have been paid for will the bidder receive purchased items. Bidders should retain all receipts for their records. Arrangements for the removal of all items must be made before the end of the evening on February 21, 2015. Winners are encouraged to carry with them all items of manageable size. In the event merchandise is too large to be transported that evening, winners may make arrangements for shipping or delivery of merchandise at their own expense. A representative of Burrows Moving will be on hand at the Auction. Deliveries must be made between February 24 and March 3 or a storage fee will be charged. Any bidders who are not present at the Auction at the time of bid notification authorize Latin School to bill the amount of their winning bids to their pre-registered credit card. Information on Tax Deductibility of Auction Purchases Purchases made at Auction 2015 are tax-deductible as provided by law only to the extent that the purchase price exceeds the fair market value of the merchandise. General Rules Neither Latin School nor the auctioneer assumes responsibility for the validity of any description, authenticity, or condition of any item offered or makes any warranty or guarantee. All property is sold "as is." Values of merchandise donations shown on BidPal devices, this catalog, or other Auction materials are estimates of fair market value, as stated by the donor or determined by the auction chairs, and are not warranted by Latin School for tax or other purposes. All sales are final. Latin School is not liable for any refunds or exchanges. Most certificates and merchandise are not exchangeable for cash in part or in full and are non-transferable. Most items are not exchangeable once purchased. Hotel, air, transportation and restaurants are subject to availability. Unless otherwise specified, all certificates expire February 21, 2016. Items and/or services purchased at the Auction are not intended to be sold or auctioned at a later date by the buyer. By making a purchase, the buyer waives any claims for liability against either Latin School or the donor of property services. Neither the Latin School nor the donor is responsible for any personal injuries or damage that may result from the use of property services sold. Latin School reserves the right to (a) withdraw any item at the time before actual sale and (b) reject a bid from any bidder. Faculty services may be redeemed by current Latin School families only. With the exception of the Live Auction, the Development Office staff will act as the final authority on any bidding disputes. Absentee Bidding Absentee bids must be confirmed with a credit card. The credit card of the highest bidder on a package will be charged on Monday, February 23, 2015. Raffle No portion of the purchase price of a raffle ticket is tax-deductible.
