I started in the lower school 12 years ago as an assistant teacher. WHAT DO YOU MOST ENJOY ABOUT TEACHING AT LATIN? The teamwork and collaboration. We all work so closely together and challenge each other to grow and change. I have had some wonderful teammates and mentors, and they have greatly influenced my teaching. WHAT IS THE BEST PART OF YOUR JOB? The students and their energy! I love to see how much the kindergartners grow and change throughout the year. WHY ARE YOU IN EDUCATION? I am passionate about being a part of students' learning from the early stages. It is such an important time to instill a love of learning and the confidence to take risks. I also love spending time with children. I learn SO much from them too! WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES AND INTERESTS? Tennis, fitness, running, reading, trying new restaurants, painting, seeing Broadway shows and plays. WHAT ARE YOUR GUIDING PRINCIPLES? Relationships are very important to me, and I truly enjoy the people in my life. I try to approach life and work with a sense of humor and an attitude of gratitude. WHAT ARE THE TRAITS YOU ADMIRE MOST IN OTHERS? Resilience, compassion, intuition, kindness and thoughtfulness. I also appreciate those who have contagious energy and a positive outlook! WHAT PROFESSION, OTHER THAN BEING A TEACHER, COULD YOU SEE YOURSELF IN? As a child, I wanted to be a doctor. I also secretly wish I could be a Broadway star! WHO HAS BEEN THE LARGEST INFLUENCE ON YOUR LIFE? My parents, who have taught me to respect others, work hard and aim high! DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE QUOTE?
