10 L AT I N M A G A Z I N E e Susan Strasburger Memorial Award Ana Pranger and Lauren Salzman Susan Strasburger attended Latin School from junior kindergarten through sixth grade. During the fall term of sixth grade, she died after a brief illness. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph J. Strasburger established this award in memory of their daughter, who was an exceptionally bright student and was well liked by her teachers and classmates. is award is presented to the middle school student or students who have achieved the highest scholastic average during three years in the middle school. e Robert Peck Bates Memorial Award Eli Bucksbaum e Robert Peck Bates Memorial Award is presented to the middle school student whose academic performance has improved most significantly over the three years of middle school. Meet our new board members: Anne Gardner Rockey '92 Anne Rockey works in marketing and communications as an executive vice president of the Leo Burnett Company. She graduated with honors in economics from Trinity College (Hartford, CT) and studied at the London School of Economics. She is a charter member and vice president of the Guild Board of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Chicago. An active Latin alumna, she has served on the Latin School of Chicago Board of Trustees as an alumni trustee (2011-2014). She has also served on the Alumni Association Board of Directors and its executive committee. Rockey, her husband, Kyle, and their 4-month-old twin boys reside in Lincoln Park. Brian Miller '92 Brian Miller is a managing partner of Linden Capital Partners, a healthcare- focused Chicago-based private equity firm. He had the good fortune to spend his junior kindergarten – senior years at Latin. He went on to receive a B.A. from Princeton University and an MBA from Harvard. He is the founder and chairman of the Healthcare Private Equity Association, a board member of AdvaMedDx, a board member of four private companies and a member of the Economic Club of Chicago. Miller serves on the Steering Committee for Latin's current endowment campaign. He and his wife, Catharon, have a daughter, Chase '26, attending Latin School. David Williams David Williams is co-founder and president of the law firm Williams, Bax & Saltzman, P.C. His law practice focuses on representing businesses and individuals in the context of commercial litigation and business counseling. He earned his bachelor's degree from Yale University and his J.D. degree from the University of Michigan. For the past two years, Williams has served on the Faculty, Staff and Administration Committee of the Board of Trustees. Williams currently serves on the board of NACCO Industries and as chairman of the METROsquash Windy City Open. He and his wife, Clara, have two children at Latin, Margo '19 and Charlie '22.
