"I don't think we've realized yet that we are the class of the
millennium. Born during the turn of the century, we all have grown
up with our ages being the same as the last two digits of the current
year, give or take one. We can tell our children that we grew up during
the election of the first black president, 9/11, the rise of social media,
and everything else that has and will happen in our lifetime. So
consider all of this as the title screen of the next chapter of our lives."

"Typically the eighth grade is ready to sprint out the
door and never look back. But you, the Class of 2018,
you wrapped your arms around those next to you,
and you sang at the top of your lungs. You stayed for
every last note, and you held on tight to one another,
not wanting to let go of that moment."
– Deb Sampey, middle school director, referring to the middle school's
traditional singing of "Sweet Caroline" at the last assembly of the year.
