'93 Max Rouse '93 achieved his 400th career victory as coach of the Latin School of Chicago varsity girls basketball team during the 2024–25 season. The team won their game against Hope Academy 59–51 on February 20th and secured a regional championship. The girls continued their success with a win against Regina Dominican High School to further them in the sectionals tournament. Congratulations to Max and his team! Cam McKinney '93, Jennifer Gruber '93, Pam Netzky '93, Beth Heller '93, Yael Ratner Silverman '93 and Howard Scott Silverman '93 reunited at Pam Netzky's daughter's Bat Mitzvah in March 2025. Beth Heller '93, Pam Netzky '93, Alexi Giannoulias '94 and Mike Houlihan '94 reunited for St. Paddy's Day. '95 Congratulations to our Latin alumnus, the talented actor and comedian, Ike Barinholtz '95, on winning "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire!" Ike also won "Celebrity Jeopardy!" in 2023 and shone as a semifinalist in the 2024 "Jeopardy!" Tournament of Champions. Stacy (Morgenstern) Igel '95 went on tour for her book, Embracing the Calm in the Chaos. Former US French teacher Mary Jane Baughman and Deb Sampey attended Stacy's stop on her book tour in Chicago at Madison Street Books on May 20th. '98 Two years into her role as Director, Global Experience & Engagement for video game company Scopely in Los Angeles, Diana Horwich Diller '98 just completed her biggest collection activation ever with 11 international events in one day for 1700+ employees. Martin Gross '98 wrote: I was recently promoted to Associate Professor of Surgery (Urology) at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College. I also have a busy male sexual health practice for the Dartmouth Health system. Aside from this my family and I love a quiet life in rural New Hampshire and I watch the Cubs whenever possible. '01 Skyler Schrempp '01 is a published historical fiction author for young readers. Her first novel, Three Strike Summer, received four starred reviews and was featured on several "best of" lists, including Bank Street College of Education's Best Children's Books of the Year, Chicago Public Library's Best of the Best and Horn Book Fanfare 2022 Booklist. The book was also an official Illinois Reads selection, winner of the Chicago Public Library's mock Newbery, a finalist for the Oklahoma Book Awards and the recipient of a Judy Lopez Memorial Honor for children's literature. Latin Track and Field coach Dan Daly wrote: I was in LA last week [March 2025] and had dinner with Jon Barinholtz '01 and his parents. Great reunion! Jon and his brother, Ike Barinholtz '95, are both very active actors in Hollywood. Lots of cool projects are coming up. '02 Darius Dennis '02 and his crew of Chicago artists transformed a blank wall into a stunning gallery, celebrating their love for Englewood! '05 Obed Garcia '05 started this past January as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology and the Center for Genomics at the University of Kansas.
