F R O M L E A D E R S H I P Mindfulness was at the heart of Latin's 2024–25 academic year, encouraging each and every student, faculty member and staff to pause, reflect and find joy within the Latin experience. As we do so, it truly is with awe that we look back on the past school year. Last year, our students demonstrated the power of a Latin education as they continued to achieve academic excellence, supported by the dedication of our faculty. Hard work and diverse interests were clearly reflected in the impressive list of colleges and universities our Romans are attending, a testament to our community's efforts and the outstanding support from our College Counseling Office. Beyond the classroom, athletes excelled with major accomplishments in conference championships, regional and sectional titles, multiple state appearances across sports including tennis, cross country, track & field and swimming and an overall increase in student participation and program visibility. A record-breaking number of Latin students from our performing arts programs were selected for the elite group of Illinois Music Education Association's honor choirs. Throughout Chicagoland and beyond, our students gave back in ways that made our school immensely proud. Our Grade 4 Philanthropy Ambassadors wrote more than 1,200 thank-you notes to donors. Our Upper School students logged over 5,400 hours of service that included off-campus volunteering and on-campus community projects. In addition, Latin's Student Philanthropy Initiative was recognized with the prestigious Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals' Chicago Chapter, in honor of its "significant impact on the Chicago community." This and so many other accomplishments were only possible because of the generosity of our Latin community. It is because of your continued support that the Latin School of Chicago thrives today while laying a strong foundation for generations to come. Together, we raised more than $4.16 million for the school's annual fund, including more than $1.8 million for financial aid through this year's Scholarship Dinner. We also grew our endowment and created a new strategic plan for the school. Thank you! Your sustained investments and donations, no matter the size, ensure that every student who walks through our doors has access to an education that empowers them to discover their whole selves, their purpose and their passions. And for that, we say thank you! Dear Latin Friends and Family, With gratitude, Dr. Thomas Hagerman Head of School Dara Milner Chair, Board of Trustees 2 L AT I N S C H O O L O F C H I C AG O
