A L A S T I N G L E G A C Y: A Planned Gift from Judy and P.D. Block '54 Latin is deeply grateful to Judith Stofer Block and Philip D. Block III '54 for their generous bequest to the school's endowment. Through this lasting gift, Judy and P.D.—two extraordinary individuals whose lives embodied leadership, generosity and a deep commitment to the city they loved—have extended their legacy of civic impact to the next generation of Latin students. Judy and P.D. were deeply rooted in Chicago, not just by residence, but by purpose. Judy, a passionate educator turned philanthropic trailblazer, left an indelible mark on countless institutions—from the Field Museum to Family Focus to Northwestern University—always driven by a belief in education and opportunity. P.D., a devoted steward of Chicago's civic life, balanced a successful business career with board leadership at the Shedd Aquarium, Lurie Children's Hospital, Chicago History Museum and Latin, among many others. When he committed to a cause, he brought diligence, depth and heart. Their bequest strengthens Latin's endowment—a permanent resource that supports excellence in teaching, financial aid and innovative programs across the school. Endowment gifts like theirs provide stability and flexibility, helping Latin plan boldly for the future while ensuring access and opportunity for generations of students to come. Judy and P.D.'s legacy will live on in every student who benefits from the vibrant, mission-driven education their gift helps sustain. We are proud to celebrate Judy and P.D. as members of the 1888 Society, which honors those who have chosen to make a planned gift to the school. Their thoughtful bequest is not only a testament to their belief in Latin's mission, but also an invitation to others to give back to the communities that shaped them and invest in the future of education and leadership. 22 L AT I N S C H O O L O F C H I C AG O
