ATHLETICS Athletics play an important role in our efforts to provide Latin students with a well-rounded education. They help us develop confident, enthusiastic, and disciplined student-athletes who value teamwork, exemplify sportsmanship and enjoy a life-long love of sports and fitness. Below is additional information about each division's athletics program. • Latin's Rising Romans program for third and fourth grade students includes baseball, basketball, cross country, Girls on the Run, soccer, softball and volleyball. • Approximately 80% of our fifth through eighth grade students participate in Latin's Middle School athletics program, which includes baseball, basketball, cross country, field hockey, soccer, softball, Track Club, volleyball and water polo. • Latin's Upper School athletics program fields more than 40 teams in a variety of sports that include baseball, basketball, cross country, field hockey, Figure Skating Club, golf, Indoor Track and Field Club, lacrosse, Sailing Club, soccer, softball, Squash Club, swimming, tennis, track, Ultimate Frisbee Club, volleyball and water polo. LIFE We offer myriad opportunities both in and out of the classroom that enable students from all three divisions to discover their interests. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT Latin partners with more than 30 organizations on a variety of initiatives in order to provide our students with meaningful community engagement opportunities that foster connections to the outside world, help them develop a strong foundation for civic leadership and teach them the importance and value of giving back. ART Latin's art program promotes the talents and nurtures the creativity of our students through activities, opportunities and resources that include: more than 40 annual performing arts productions, an art studio in each division, art galleries and a photography and multimedia production lab. STUDENT-RUN CLUBS Latin has 64 clubs in the Upper School and 35 clubs in the Middle School that bring together students with common passions or interests. There are also opportunities for students to expand on our list of offerings by collaborating with teachers, administrators and each other to form new clubs. AFFINITY GROUPS Each division has affinity groups that give students with similar backgrounds and identities the chance to explore and discuss their shared experiences. These groups help Latin cultivate a more inclusive and supportive climate that help all members of our community feel accepted, affirmed, empowered and safe. Student
