S U P P O R T AT L AT I N Since 1888, charitable donations have been paramount to supporting each and every Latin student. Today, donations to the Latin Fund continue to fuel 20 percent of the school's overall budget. Gifts from current parents/guardians, alumni, grandparents, corporate partners, faculty, and staff ensure that students across all divisions have access to the full Latin experience — an experience that allows all Romans to discover their whole selves, purposes, and passions. $1,601,500 ROMANS RAISE & REVEL $2,233,162 LATIN FUND A N N UA L G I V I N G (2022–23) TOTAL: $3,834,662 The LATIN FUND is the cornerstone of our fundraising efforts each year and means the difference between a very good school and a great one for our students. The fund helps us recruit and retain outstanding faculty, attract talented students from across the city and provide a dynamic and innovative school environment. Together, we maintain one of the highest participation rates among national independent schools. Every year, Latin hosts an all-school fundraising event, alternating between ROMANS RAISE & REVEL and the SCHOLARSHIP DINNER. The events serve as community celebrations, bringing together nearly 1,000 parents/guardians, alumni, faculty, staff and friends to raise more than $1.5 million each year. Both events focus on raising funds for Latin's more than $4.6 million financial aid budget, providing scholarships to more than 130 students last year. In addition to our annual funding support, donors also make legacy gifts including donations to our ENDOWMENT and PLANNED GIFTS. Contributions to our endowment safeguard our school and ensure its financial stability. Likewise, planned gifts are an important way for members of our community to make a commitment through their trust or estate plans. Both of these long-term investments provide permanent support for scholarships, professional development, athletics, learning resources and more. A N N UA L R E P O R T 2 0 2 2 – 2 3 9
