Financial Aid at Latin As a school community, we are committed to making a Latin education possible for families from socioeconomically diverse backgrounds. Latin School of Chicago is proud to be able to award more than $4.9 million in need-based aid annually. The Financial Aid Office strives to assist families for whom the cost of independent school tuition is the only barrier to attendance. Latin has a need-sensitive financial aid policy. This means that all admitted students demonstrating need will be funded, but the number of students needing financial aid who can be admitted is restricted based on our budget. For more information, please visit latinschool.org/admissions HOW TO APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID AT LATIN Be prepared. Pull together all of your financial aid documents. If possible, file your income taxes early. Make note of all deadlines. Not adhering to the deadlines may impact your ability to receive an award. Mark the box requesting financial aid on the admissions application, then complete the FAST application online at ismfast.com. Applications for first time applicants are due by January 12, 2024. Complete and submit your federal and state income tax forms. These official documents must be MAILED directly to FAST prior to March 1, 2024: Independent School Management Attn: FAST Processing 1316 N. Union St. Wilmington, DE 19806 SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES We often encounter families with unique financial situations. We are happy to answer questions about any special circumstances that could affect your family's ability to pay for the cost of attending Latin. DIVORCED OR SEPARATED PARENTS In cases where parents are divorced or separated, both parents must complete the required financial aid documents regardless of custody arrangements. If parents have remarried, the family contribution must be based on the income and assets of the parent and stepparent. Payment Plans Latin offers families a one-payment option, or choice of a two- payment option or an eight-payment option. A one-time $150 fee will be assessed for the eight-payment plan. 34% 49% 17% 8
