Dear Friends, While I do not think I could have chosen a more challenging time to serve as chair of Latin's board of trustees, I am grateful to be able to serve the Latin community during this time. I want to thank my fellow trustees for their dedication in supporting me, Randall and the entire Latin community. As always, the people of Latin were our first priority throughout the pandemic. From a financial perspective, we budgeted for the worst and then increased from there. Due to the generosity of our community, we were able to spare no expense when it came to supporting Latin families, faculty, staff and students as well as meeting the needs related to COVID response. I am proud of the work we have done together as it reflects well on our shared values of excellence, community and integrity. I want to thank the other volunteer leaders whose commitment to these values makes our community stronger every day, but who truly went above and beyond last year to foster belonging and togetherness despite our distance from each other: Nancy Dwyer, president of the Parent Association; Jenny Cizner '95, president of the Alumni Association; Denise Gibson, Development Committee chair; and Val Vlahos & Steve Madry and Amrit & Gurpreet Singh, Romans Raise & Revel co-chairs. Each of you play an important leadership role and demonstrate excellence and integrity in all you do to strengthen the Latin community. In this time of crisis, our vision is more compelling than ever: to reinforce the value of an exemplary liberal arts education that makes learning inquiry-based, personal and inclusive. We know how to make that a reality, and we have the commitment to do it. Thank you for the opportunity to be your partner in this work. With thanks, David Koo Chair, Board of Trustees "Due to the generosity of our community, we were able to spare no expense when it came to supporting Latin families, faculty, staff and students as well as meeting the needs related to COVID response."
