Support at Latin Since 1888, members of the Latin community have come together to create a legacy that reaches far beyond the classroom. Our community's long-standing tradition of philanthropy has allowed Latin and its graduates to thrive and succeed in an ever-changing world. This annual report celebrates Latin's supporters as partners in achieving our mission to provide a rigorous and innovative education to more than 1,100 students each year. The LATIN FUND is the cornerstone of our fundraising efforts each year and means the difference between a very good school and a great one for our students. The fund helps us recruit and retain outstanding faculty, attract talented students from across the city, and provide a dynamic and innovative school environment. Together, we maintain one of the highest participation rates among national independent schools. Every year, Latin hosts an all-school event, alternating between ROMANS RAISE & REVEL and the SCHOLARSHIP DINNER. The events serve as a community celebration, bringing together nearly 1,000 parents, alumni, faculty, staff and friends to raise more than $1 million each year. Both events focus on raising funds for Latin's more than $4 million financial aid budget, providing scholarships to more than 170 students last year. Well-designed spaces create a more productive environment for faculty and students and a deeper, more connected learning experience. Following recent improvements to the lower and upper school lobbies, the Latin community made significant CAPITAL investments in support of a transformative new Learning Commons for the upper school as well as the Greenwood Learning Garden, a creative and collaborative outdoor learning environment for our youngest students. ENDOWMENT is a permanent source of strength and financial stability for our school. Funds contributed to Latin's endowment are invested by the school for its long- term benefit and provide permanent annual support for scholarships, professional development, athletics, learning resources and more.
